Baby Deacon- Birth Story

Dear Baby Deacon,
You are finally here! We've never been so happy! You are absolutely perfect in every way! You had quite the entry, it was a rough day for you but you're happy and healthy!
My water broke at 6:00 in the morning and I wasn't sure whether I peed my pants or what but once I cleaned myself up and there was still a gush of fluid coming out I knew it was time to go!
We were so excited and nervous! :) We got to the hospital and got all checked in, the Dr and nurses kept saying we'd have you in our arms by early afternoon, so we hung out. Around ten o clock, my contractions started getting worse and worse so I got the epidural! It wasn't nearly as bad as everyone says it is! In fact I hardly felt anything at all! Being numb is weird but it made me feel so much better!
So Mom and Dad hung out... all day long. Watching Jericho, playing thumb wars, eating ice chips...
it was the longest wait. Mom was dialating nicely but not as fast as the Dr. said I would...
At 6 o clock, it was finally time to push! We did a couple practice pushes and we were on our way!
It was the weirdest thing, Dr. Fowers wasn't even in there for most of it! He'd come in and check on me and then leave! Haha it didn't even feel real!
You were in the birth canal for 3 hours, you were flipped sunny side up! Dr. Fowers came in and flipped you several times but when I would push you would just flip back! You wanted to come out your way! I was on oxygen for two hours because your heartbeat would go down lots but when they finally took me off oxygen, I felt like I had more strength! The nurses kept whispering about a c-section and Dr. Fowers told me if I didn't push you out within 15 minutes he was gonna grab the vacuum and forceps! So I said a couple prayers and was determined that you would come out and you must have agreed because after a few pushes you slipped right out!
I was so confused, they told me I would feel a release of pressure and I did but no one said anything like he's out or you did it! They just stopped talking and I'm sitting there thinking I had to push still then all of a sudden I see little legs and Dr. Fowers hands wrapped around you! There you were, tiny and perfect! Bruised and swollen but perfect! Daddy cut your umbilical cord and the nurses cleaned you up and weighed you! All while terrifying me. They said I'd never be able to breastfeed and you would never latch because you were so bruised, swollen and hurt. They also kept saying you would need to be on formula because you were too little, and then your breathing was funny so they took you to the NICU.
When they finally brought you back we did some skin to skin, I couldn't believe how beautiful you were. Even with your swollen little head and bruising, you were perfect. My perfect little boy! You were just so tiny and long! We had the best night cuddling you and feeding you with syringes.
You had lots of visitors! Grandma and Grandpa Kendrick, Bryce and Aline, BrinDee, Grandpa Lamont and Mary Kay, The whole Grob family, Blaine Worthen, Mikell, Aaron, and of course your Grandma Lilian. It was the best three days in the hospital with you but we just wanted to go home with you!
We are now home and we have never been happier! You bring so much joy to our lives! Everything about you is perfect and you're such a sweet baby! So calm and content! Your swelling and bruising has gone down and you're eating like a champ! We are so lucky to be your parents! Thank you for choosing us! We love you and can't wait for more perfect little moments with you! Love, Mamae e Papai.
