Early Mornings and Tin Foil Dinners!

Friday night Brett and I decided we would finally go to the temple. It's only 2 and a half hours away and we shouldn't be hesitating to go so we set the alarm. We had to be to the temple by the 9 o clock session because I had to be back for work at 4pm. 6am came too early but we got ready, picked up Brother Park and we're on our way. It was a short drive compared to others and we we're so happy to be at the temple. We loved every minute of being inside the Lord's House. It was filled with peace and joy, it was the perfect thing for us to be doing that day. Not fishing, fishing can wait. We needed to be in the temple, accomplishing our goals and doing what we love. It was the perfect day together. I love going to the temple and we can't wait to go again next Saturday!
Sundays are always my favorite day of the week. It's always a day all to ourselves, no work, no people, just us. I love it. Our small building was filled this Sunday, we had 75 of us in the small branch! :) It was so fun. I recently got a new calling. I am the Adult Sunday School teacher, gospel Doctrine. It just proves to me that the Lord has a sense of humor, instead of putting me with the nursery where I am good at, he puts me teaching people who are far beyond my years. I do love my calling though, I love the things that I am learning and the Lords help in all I do. I know Heavenly Father gives us calling to make us better, to polish us. and boy do I feel like I'm being polished. I have never read scriptures and learned so much from them in one sitting. I love learning from people and I love the group of members we have in our branch. It's so great to know that the church is the same no matter where you are or who is there. It's the same spirit we feel, the same Father we pray to. Brett is the Branch Mission leader, so we're both very involved with the branch and that's exactly how we like it. Brett is perfect for his calling, he has a hunger for missionary work like no one I've ever met before and I love that. It's exactly how I want to be. What better way to live the gospel than to serve the Lord and bring his children back to Him?
We both have lots that keep us busy, but the Lord knows that these callings will edify us and make us who we are meant to be.
It was the 3rd Sunday so we had our Branch Potluck and every time we spend time with our ward members we love this branch more and more. We are so blessed to have a branch that is so close to us. We are so blessed to have a temple in North Dakota that was dedicated for the Lamanites. We are so blessed to be "favored of the Lord"
Sunday ended with a beautiful sunset and a little picnic, tin foil dinners and corn on the cob on the grill :) We love making food together and spending our favorite day together. There is nothing I love more than making memories that will last a lifetime with my best friend.

There are days that I long for home. I long for my family and friends and things I've always known, but days like these make me realize that we are home. North Dakota is our home and is filled with our friends and "family." This is where we are meant to be and as much as we miss our families, we don't want to be anywhere else. This is where we belong <3
